PHO web pages are designed for educational purposes only and not for the purpose of rendering medical advice. PHO is a privately owned web site, run and administered by psoriasis sufferers, for psoriasis sufferers. We are not medical professionals, just enthusiastic amateurs, with a goal to provide an informative and friendly environment to learn about Psoriasis and discuss topics with others in similar situations.

Occasionally a link is provided to a page on a site other than PHO, this is indicated by the lack of www.psoriasis-help.org.uk in the URL. PHO has no control over content on such pages, and as such is not responsible for their content or accuracy.

Advertising and Promotional Message Posts. This Web Site has strictly imposed terms of use policy. 

PHO is privately owned and funded and is a totally non profit-making. PHO does not accept any advertising. Members of PHO should not be able to profit from their membership by advertising or selling products to other members. Advertising or Spamming in the forum will not be tolerated at any level. This includes posting messages with email addresses or web site addresses from which the member can profit.

Any promotional posts in the forum by merchants or their representatives will result in the person responsible being banned from the forum and their message(s) being deleted. Whenever someone leaves a message in the forum their IP address is recorded allowing them to be banned from the forum if they abuse this service.

Anyone found using abusive language against another member of the forum or within message posted in the forum will have their message immediately deleted and will be banned from the forum. 

The aim of this site is to provide a safe place for people to seek help and advice, free from harassment. To create an environment for people to share their views and treatments that may have helped them live with this disease. If it is felt that any message within the forum contravenes these ideals they will be deleted without question and the offender will be banned.
 

Message posts about Cures, Treatments, Miracle Cures and Requests for Members to act as a person who is subjected to experimental or other observational procedures; someone who is an object of investigation for treatments (i.e. Guinea Pig) 

PHO does not tolerate and will not allow members posting details of “Cures”, “Treatments” or “Miracle Cures” from which they can gain personally. This restriction encompasses all types of gain whether this is financial gain or gain of information for data gathering or research purposes. 
 
Members of PHO who wish to carry out non-profit making research or request help from members in carrying out non-profit making research should only do so with the express permission of the site owner or one of the moderating team.  
 
Permission will only be granted if the person(s) carrying out this research publish or make available to the members of the forum, in totality, what the research incorporates and all the results of the research. 
 
In addition, all person(s) involved in research remain solely responsible for the content of the research, and agree to indemnify and hold harmless PHO, and any related websites to PHO. 
 
As previously stated: “PHO does not endorse any medications, products, equipment or treatments for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.” This includes any medications, products, equipment or treatments used as part of trials or research conducted by members of this forum. These exclusions do not include those members who have bought or discovered an alternative treatment that they have no personal connection to, other than the use of, and have had success with. The “alternatives” section of this forum is here for psoriasis sufferers to share their experiences of non-prescription therapies with the other members.  

Photographs and Pictures

If you send Photographs for inclusion on the PHO web site or post Photographs in the publicly accessible areas of PHO you grant PHO a world-wide, royalty free and non-exclusive licence to reproduce, modify, adapt and publish such content on the PHO web site. You also agree not to post any copyrighted material unless you own the copyright or you have consent from the owner of the copyrighted material.

Registering for the Forum

You agree, through your use of PHO, that you will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise in violation of ANY law. You also agree not to post any copyrighted material unless you own the copyright or you have consent from the owner of the copyrighted material.

Spam, flooding, advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are also inappropriate to PHO.

Note that it is impossible for us to confirm the validity of posts on PHO. Please remember that we do not actively monitor the posted messages and are not responsible for their content.

We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any information presented. The messages express the views of the author, not necessarily the views of PHO. Anyone who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to notify an administrator of this forum immediately.

We have the rights to remove objectionable content, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, so please realise that we may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately. This policy goes for member profile information as well.

After you register and log into PHO, you can fill out a detailed profile. It is your responsibility to present clean and accurate information. Any information we deem inaccurate or vulgar will be removed.

Please note that with each post, your IP address is recorded, in the event that you need to be banned from PHO or your ISP contacted. This will only happen in the event of a major violation of this agreement.
